For Parents

DT Kids Academy is an after-school programme with a difference.

The Academy is a nurturing environment whose main focus is to foster resilience and engagement in young creative minds. Our learning programmes are based on more than 10 years of tried and tested approaches that promote creative exploration and discovery of computing and computer science through STEAM – Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths. All our learning programmes are informed by sound educational philosophy and developed by a nationally recognised subject matter expert.

We focus on using low budget computing and open source platforms because they are flexible and can be used with any project, be it inventing a robot, an Internet controlled device or the composition of a dance track. This supports learners to follow their inspiration and to continue their learning journey independently outside of the Academy and even back in the classroom.

The Future is Now!

Support your child to learn all that they can about Digital Technologies & Hangarau Matihiko. Help your children understand that technology gives them the tools; but they still need to know how to work together, communicate, lead, and plan in order to succeed.

Digital Technologies & Hangarau Matihiko, what parents, family, whānau & iwi need to know

Our learning programmes are aligned with the new Digital Technologies learning area. This important subject will become compulsory for all children to learn and all schools in New Zealand to teach from 2020. Enrol your child now for Term 1 2019, or check out our School Holiday Programme.
